Andrew and I have become very aware since starting our venture that there is a lack of knowledge around red meat and Scottish farming systems. Scottish farms are often compared with factory farming systems across the world. It is very often overlooked that farming techniques in Scotland are some of the most environmentally friendly and sustainable in the world.
QMS Health and Education team has newly launched an online interactive educational resource – Farming Foodsteps. Aimed at secondary school children the lessons are linked with learning outcomes in the Scottish curriculum. Lessons teach children about where their meat comes from and gives insight into Scotland’s red meat journey. The resource is free and can be used remotely. Click here.
