Isolation Frustration

This time of year, to an extent, the Glenkilrie Team is accustomed to isolation. Busy calving, preparing for lambing and the men with their own roles out and about on the farm. Years ago the colder winters and snow stopped traffic in its tracks. The biggest difference, and one which Andrew is loving, is the lack of vehicles on the A93, which runs through the middle of the farm.

Normally we have tourists passing in their droves, often travelling up to Balmoral or exploring the snow road. The warmer weather encourages bikers, cyclists, car fun runs and coach trips. Unfortunately, the Glenkilrie Bed and Breakfast, run by Andrew’s mother Morag, has had to close. The successful busy enterprise is facing a very different spring and summer to normal.

Taking all the precautions that Covid 19 has brought to the business, Glenkilrie Larder can continue supplying fresh and frozen meat straight to your door. This month we have started to use national couriers to deliver our goods to a wider audience in mainland UK.

We wish all our customers the very best during these difficult times and look forward to coronavirus free living. Stay Safe
