Farm update

Andrew has continued with his fencing project despite the snow. Dedicated or crazy, you decide!  Davie has spent days feeding and looking after sheep in the harsh winter conditions.

Today the men finished pre-calving vaccinations for cows and heifers, taking the opportunity to ensure those females closest to calving were taken nearer to home.

Sadly, Davie’s beloved New Zealand Huntaway, Kim, had to be put to sleep and the family’s Highland Pony Murray passed away.  Ten years ago, Huntaway Kim was brought home to Glenkilrie as a pup and was a constant companion for Davie, bought from friend, the late Jimmy Menzies, a well-known dog breeder and triallist.

Lastly Murray, our Highland Pony, who lived for two decades at Glenkilrie died.  Andrew’s quarter horse Nice and Murray were joint at the hip.  We are glad he passed away peacefully but very sad too at his passing.
